As we reported last night, Facebook didn’t appreciate the premature unveiling of its official native app for the iPad and went ahead and blocked its users from accessing the site. Of course, many users still got around to try it out before they did it, and we even got around to preview it. Nevertheless, a lot of you were disappointed that Facebook closed the loophole, and asked for a workaround.
Well, you’ll be glad to hear there is indeed a workaround. Released last night, FaceForward is a hack developed by the jailbreak expert @chpwn, that will reactivate the Facebook iPad app, despite Facebook blocking it. Best of all, it’s available right from Cydia and will take care of activating the iPad app as well, making the whole process much simpler.
More precisely, here are the 5 steps you need to follow to get Facebook’s native iPad app working on your device:
1. Jailbreak your iPad (by going to jailbreakme.com, or using redsn0w if you’re running a newer firmware than 4.3.3)
2. Install Facebook for iPhone on your iPad from the App Store
3. Launch Cydia, search for FaceForward and install it
4. Reboot
5. Meet Facebook For iPad
